  22. This is not true. The BIOS's that are used in all IBM clones are NOT 
  23. intellectual property of IBM. The were reverse engineered by the Japanese,
  24. so that the code is totally different but has the same functionality. I
  25. can write a program that does exactly the same thing as another from
  26. scratch, and I am not violating anyones copyright - if I use anotherse source
  27. and call it my own, then I am violating another's copyright as I am using
  28. their intellectual property without their consent.

  36. code whatever. As soon as it is written by you, it is your intellectual
  37. property and is automatically covered by copyright law (at least this is
  38. how it works down under :-).
