- From my experience, that $100 commercial package is more likely to be
- useless than the shareware. Shareware authors have to be sure that they
- deliver what they promise -- not so with commercial software. I'd rather
- spend the time evaluating several shareware programs than buying a
- commercial program that promises the usual -- 'easy setup, intuitive
- interface, will instantly solve all your problems' -- and turns out to
- be unusable for one reason or other, and being forced to waste time
- returning it (if possible), buying another program, or learning some
- bizarre this-program-only user interface.
