- Not flaming, but you obviously have never installed Linux. It's even more
- easy to install than DOS. Partitioning is the most difficult, but everything
- else is a matter of starting an install script and answering >a few< questions.
- I mean a few and easy, like: "Do you really want to install GCC now?" etc.
-
- FYI, Linux is a free (in the sense of the GNU GPL) UNIX clone for (E)ISA 386
- and up machines. It has most of the goodies of a real UNIX system, like X11R5,
- UUCP, GCC/G++/GDB (which is also able to optimize for the 486), SCSI support
- (a dozen different controlers), math coprocessor emulation, you can read/write
- and even format MS-DOS floppies, etc. There is even a beta XENIX emulation
- availlabe. It's really quite good, even though it is still in the beta stadium
- and it doesn't have networking yet.

- Nope, just FTP Linux from tsx-11.mit.edu or nic.funet.fi, install it. It's free
- so what is there to lose???
-
- >Any suggestions on OS2 whether it is worth trying out.
- I don't know. I've used v1.3 and I liked it until I began using Linux.
-
- BTW, don't believe what I say, tune in on comp.os.linux and find out for your-
- self. Or FTP Linux from tsx-11.mit.edu or nic.funet.fi, it's there for your
- hacking pleasure.
