- A friend of mine just received a genuine IBM 5150 PC (64K/256K Sys Board,
- 65 Watt Power Supply, Keyboard AND CASSETTE interface, only 5 expansion
- slots). He asked me if I could get it working. It was labeled "defective
- hard disk". I have several questions:
-
- 1. Does this machine support EGA or VGA video boards?
-
- 2. Does this machine support 1.44M or 1.2M floppy drives?
- (The floppy controller is missing anyway - so I'll have
- to replace it)
-
- 3. There appears to be a relay on the system board next to the
- keyboard. It is marked "Omron" (Cash Register Fame?). Does
- anyone know what this is for?
-
- 4. This system board has two 8-position DIP switches. The docs
- I have from an XT only mention one 8-position DIP switch.
- Could someone email the meanings of these switches?
-
- Thanks!
-
- Any hints will be greatly appreciated!
