- Yes it is possible to install a 1.2meg 5.25 drive on a XT. You will need a
- controller which can handle the higher data transfer rate however. There
- are several on the market made for the 8bit XT bus (these also handle
- 1.44meg 3.5 drives). I don't know if the normal XT floppy controller will
- handle a 1.2meg drive as a 360K drive, but I do know it won't handle 1.2meg
- mode. Depending on the controller & BIOS, you may also have to run a
- device driver to handle the higher density.
