- Richard,
-
- Yes I have a 286-20mhz by dell. It use to buzz when the monitor was
- displaying graphics, and when certain memory intensive operations occured.
- I finnaly located the problem to the cheapo Taiwanese power supply by Senstron
- Not only is the Senstron power supply loud but it appeared to be a reconditioned
- I think I was pushing the limits of its abilities.
- My solution was to purchase a new power supply with more wattage.
-
- You may want to operate you computer without its case and put your ear to
- the power supply to listen for a buzz. BTW does your CMOS configuration
- occasionally screw up? I believe it is a symptom of a bad power supply. My
- apparently was not putting out very constant power and it spiked occasionally.
- Sometimes serious enough to mess up the CMOS config.
-
- I hope this helps.
