- I don't know if I'd say PC Connection's prices are much higher than
- the average. Sure, they're higher, but they don't seem that much
- higher. Around here (locally), you can buy hardware and software for
- prices cheaper than PC Connection's. However, in California, we pay
- over 8% sales tax and this can easily make any local prices look the
- same or worse, especially for things like CDROMs and high-end software.
-
- I'd rather spend a little extra and get good service, than take my
- chances with some of the local stores (for me, "local" is a 90-mile
- drive south).
-
- Best of all, PC Connection's standard shipping is next day delivery
- (for a flat rate of $5). If you want Saturday delivery, you have to ask
- for it (assuming that you're in a delivery area that supports it). Even
- though I'm somewhat in the boonies, I can order stuff on Friday and have
- it delivered to me the next day (as a matter of fact, I've done this
- twice from PC Connection in the last month). It's very nice.
