  14. In the latest Windows (September) magazine there is a full page ad
  15. for the ATI Ultra Pro and +.  As I recall, the Pro is available in
  16. ISA, EISA, and VL-Bus.  The + is ISA only.

  18. The Pro has a 25 million WinMark (Compared to Ultra's 11 million
  19. and S3's average 9 million) and the + has a 21 million Winmark.

  21. Both cards have lots of colours, although I don't recall the details.
  22. I think the + has fewer colours than the Pro, but still very impressive.

  24. I phoned ATI and spoke to a tech rep who stated that these cards are
  25. still 8514/a register compatible (must be a superset) as the original
  26. Ultra/Vantage are.  He did not know the release date.  The + is list
  27. priced at $399 in the ad and the Pro is $599.  $399 seems cheap for
  28. a card 2x as fast as the current fastest with 1280x1024x256 (NI) and
  29. 1024x768xN (N is many!  Can't recall how many. > 256 though).

  33. On another note, any other 17" monitors that will do 1280x1024 @ >=70Hz?
  34. I have found the NEC 5fg and the Nanao T560i so far, the former is in
  35. the running for my purchase, the latter is too many $$$.

  37. I called Viewsonic and they will be updating the V 7 to support 
  38. 1280x1024 @ >=70Hz (currently 60Hz at that res.) in the new year. 
  39. It will probably be released in Feb. 93.  I can't wait that long!

  41. Any other good monitors out there that will be a good match for these
  42. ATI cards?
