- I have been having problems with my Microsoft Mouse and was hoping that
- someone on the net might have encountered the same problem or might have
- some suggestions/advice.
-
- The problem is this:
- When I use the mouse, the pointer basically moves where I want it to, but
- the movement is extremely jittery (i.e. the pointer shakes around a lot,
- sort of as if it's had an overdose of caffiene). This makes it very
- difficult for me to point to a specific icon or spot on the screen.
- I thought the problem was just that I needed to clean the mouse, but I
- did that very thoroughly, and the problem still persists. After
- investigating further, I discovered that the problem is with the metal
- roller that controls the horizontal movement. When I take the ball out
- of the mouse and move the rollers with my finger, the vertical movement is
- nice and smooth; the horizontal movement is the one that is jittery.
-
- I would appreciate any help anyone could give me on this. Also, does
- anyone know how to (if it is possible) take apart the Microsoft Mouse
- (completely open it up, not just take the ball out)? Perhaps I could
- find out what exactly is wrong if I could get inside.
-
- Much Thanks,
- Ed Cheng
