  18. several manufacturers.  But SCSI-2 probably isn't exactly what you
  19. suppose it to be.  In its current form, SCSI-2 is mostly a software
  20. standard that mandates greater uniformity in the implementations of
  21. the command language used across the SCSI bus.  In other words, SCSI-2
  22. will help match SCSI devices with host adapters."

  24. The article ("Choosing and using hard disks") goes on about optional,
  25. to-be-implemented varieties of SCSI, Fast and Wide, which as you
  26. probably guessed by now increase throughput by doubling the bus clock
  27. speed and bus width, respectively.  Read the article for further (if
  28. rather general) information.  You may also want to check out the
  29. article "The perfect PC" in July 1992 issue.
