- Greetings netters:
-
- I'm working on a Maxtor 7080AT, 81Meg IDE drive. Up until two days ago
- it worked fine. The person that owns it has a semi-recent backup so
- he told me that I could format it if that's what it would take to get
- the drive to work again. The disk is translated in the CMOS table
- as 981 Cyl., 10 Head, 17 Sectors.
-
- Norton's Disk Doctor does not see the drive. Fdisk sees the drive and
- will let me partition it any way I please. However when I reboot the
- POST says that the Hard disk is non-existant. And, of course, since the
- drive is "non-existant" it cannot be formatted.
-
- Any suggestions will be most appreciated.
