- I've just inherited responsibility for caring for two old H-P
- Vectra RS/16 machines. Each contains one meg of memory in the
- form of four 256K SIMM's. I'd like to upgrade each to four
- megs of memory right away and eventually to eight megs.
-
- I'd like to fill four of the sixteen SIMM sockets on each machine
- with 1M SIMM's and later add four more SIMM's to each. However, I
- RTFM'ed and it specified sixteen 256K SIMM's to achieve four megs.
- I'd really rather not have to scrounge up that many 256K SIMM's and
- then have to get rid of them when I go to eight megs. So, my question
- is whether anyone happens to know whether I can just install four 1M
- SIMM's instead of sixteen 256K SIMM's in these particular machines.
-
- Thanks!
