- My ST251 stopped working one day when it was just idle.
- The top head crashed.
- I'm still recovering what data I can (it was a DOS system).

- The ST225s (20 Meg) were rather rugged and reliable.
- One of 3 broke after several years of use.
- I'm not sure if I ever got to swap controller cards to see if it
- was the controller or machanism that broke.
- It would spin up, but not seek beyond a few cylinders.
- Normally, seeking is nearly silent. The bad one would
- go "peep! peep!" when attempting to seek.
