- JTS110 asked:
- Does anyone know the game designer of OGRE? I'm pretty sure it's the name of
- the game... it's a tank game where you program the tank to react to different
- terrains and different enemies. It's kinda old. You program the tank with
- a Pascal like language. Anyone know what I'm talking about? If anyone can
- help please leave me a reply. Thanks.
-
-
- to which shawn brown replied:
- If I remember correctly it was Origin, and Steve Jackson had a large hand
- in it...
-
- correct. O.G.R.E. was a board game by Steve Jackson Games later put into a
- computer game by Origin Systems. I don't think there were different terrains
- (other than "impassible" craters and rubble) unless it incorporated G.E.V.
- features. and I also don't think it had a programming feature but I might
- be wrong. the game designer would be Steve Jackson (unless you mean
- "video game" designer.
-
- JTS110 then said:
- PS It might be called OMEGA. I dunno. Some "O" name like that.
-
- There is another game by Origin Systems called Omega. Interestingly, it does
- implement a procedure programming language and had terrain effects. it is
- a one-on-one or team play tank battle sim. The game came out in 1989 and
- the author is Stuart B. Marks and is based on a game "Tank Battle" in 1986
- by that same author.
-
- hope this helped.
