  10. I have been playing Starflight II and have gotten pretty far into the game.
  11. Recently, Starflight II stopped loading correctly on my system.  I would get to
  12. the screen "Loading the game in progress..." and it would just stop there.  
  13. Before, the games had been loading in about three seconds after this screen 
  14. came up, but I let it sit for about thirty seconds and nothing.

  16. I did the usual "eliminate everything from your CONFIG.SYS until it works" to
  17. see what might be causing it, and I noticed that it would work after I removed
  18. SMARTDRV.SYS (Microsoft's disk cache program).

  20. This caused me much confusion, because I had been playing just fine with 
  21. SMARTDRV.SYS installed, then it just quit working, and besides, why would a
  22. disk cache cause a game to stop working?  I did notice that I could start a new
  23. game, save it, and restore it, but then again my current game worked at first,
  24. too.

  26. Has anyone else had this problem?  I really hate playing without a disk cache,
  27. because it makes things so much slower.  Can anyone share their experience on
  28. this with me?
