- In a previous article, roeschmf@craft.camp.clarkson.edu (Martin F. Roesch) says:

- Yes, but the original F-15 was an air superiority fighter, and the basic
- design is unchanged. The F-15SE would make a damned fine dogfighter, if
- necessary. Your comment about risking speical electronics is true enough
- in real life, but I always thought one of the points in having a simulator
- was so that you didn't have to risk the expensive gadgetry....only a nice,
- temporary, virtual version of them.
- Why blame MicroProse for putting air combat in their 'simulation'? It's
- the same as having carrier launches in F-19/F-177A. The manual comes right
- out and says, "This isn't realistic, but it IS fun, so we put it in."
- So maybe F-15 III won't be real-world accurate. From all of the lengthy
- complaining about Falcon 3.0, at least F-15 III will be in good company on
- that score.
- It's a PC program! It's not a multi-million-dollar Air Force simulator!
- It's intended as entertainment! (You've probably heard about the trade-off
- between realism and playability...)
- I, for one, am looking forward to F-15 III. It will take a lot of
- oversights in the program to turn me against it.
- Okay, I'm done rambling.
