- I need to know if anyone has done this before, or if they know that it does
- work. We have some HP1000 systems that are used for data collection with A/D
- converters. The HP1000 systems are on Ethernet running TCP/IP. Currently, all
- of the A/D converters are attached to the HP1000 by direct, hard-wired RS232
- connections. We would like to do the data collection over Ethernet(TCP/IP)
- with terminal servers. So here it what is looks like:
-
- Current:
-
- A/D Cvt. ---------- serial line ------------- HP1000
-
- Desired:
-
- A/D Cvt. -- serial line -- Term. Server -- Ethernet -- HP1000
-
-
- The bottom line question is "does HP support virtual application ports on
- the HP1000?"
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
