  14. I need to know if anyone has done this before, or if they know that it does
  15. work.  We have some HP1000 systems that are used for data collection with A/D
  16. converters.  The HP1000 systems are on Ethernet running TCP/IP.  Currently, all
  17. of the A/D converters are attached to the HP1000 by direct, hard-wired RS232
  18. connections.  We would like to do the data collection over Ethernet(TCP/IP)
  19. with terminal servers.  So here it what is looks like:

  23.        A/D Cvt. ---------- serial line ------------- HP1000

  25. Desired:

  27.        A/D Cvt. -- serial line -- Term. Server -- Ethernet -- HP1000

  30. The bottom line question is "does HP support virtual application ports on
  31. the HP1000?"
