-
- The MPE/CSL compressors are not compatible with ARC.
-
- My article in "INTERACT" (this is a magazine produced by INTEREX),
- August 1992, page 126, discusses all compressors in the MPE/CSL.
- All run on MPE XL, and all but one run on MPE V. LZ (a DEC port) has the
- best compression on MPE V; QUARK (based on LZW, I believe) has the best
- compression on MPE XL.
-
- LZ can be used on MPE V, MPE XL and DOS, but only compresses standard files.
-
- QUARK compresses only on MPE XL but compresses everything but KSAMXL. Source
- is not included.
-
- Maybe someone is selling ARC for MPE? I have heard rumors of this for years.
- I expect a CSL version of PKZIP perhaps...but I don't want to spread rumors.
