  11. Running HPUX8.07, we run "umount" (or "mount") on our 
  12. optical drive HP6500-650A, and it seems to take 30 seconds
  13. or so for this to show up in the system tables!!!  We can
  14. even eject the disk.

  16. We type "bdf" and drive still shows up.
  17.  
  18. I thought, OK, if I type "sync" it will take.
  19. WRONG!!!  Even "syncing" doesn't speed up the 
  20. process.  As you might expect, this can be very,
  21. very confusing.

  23. Is the disk mounted, or isn't it???
  24. QUESTION: is there some command we can issue to force
  25. the system to sync up more quickly?
