- Running HPUX8.07, we run "umount" (or "mount") on our
- optical drive HP6500-650A, and it seems to take 30 seconds
- or so for this to show up in the system tables!!! We can
- even eject the disk.

- We type "bdf" and drive still shows up.

- I thought, OK, if I type "sync" it will take.
- WRONG!!! Even "syncing" doesn't speed up the
- process. As you might expect, this can be very,
- very confusing.

- Is the disk mounted, or isn't it???
- QUESTION: is there some command we can issue to force
- the system to sync up more quickly?
