  12. I have a friend who would like to port an application over from an
  13. Hewlett Packard 9000 series desktop computer to an IBM PC compatible.
  14. The current HP 9000 setup is:

  16.  
  17.         Series:         HP 9000 - 236
  18.         Model:          9836C Desktop
  19.         CPU:            6800
  20.         Peripherals:    2 x Double Density Disk Drives
  21.                         1 x Thinkjet (HPIB)
  22.         Source:         Majority of code is in Interpreted HP BASIC
  23.                         while some code is in HP PASCAL
  24.  
  25. Apparently, he has read of a company called TRANSERA, which sells a HP
  26. BASIC interpreter which runs on an IBM PC. He found an insert card in
  27. BYTE magazine and sent it off to the company as well as a fax (this was
  28. several months ago) but got no reply.

  30. He would like to know:
  31.  
  32. 1.  If there are any other solutions from either HP or some other
  33. party to allow this porting to the IBM PC platform.  (Bascially he wants
  34. to avoid recoding the entire application.)
  35.  
  36. 2.  If anyone has a person to contact in TRANSERA as well as his/her fax
  37. number.
  38.  
  39. 3.  If anyone has any experience in using TRANSERA products and what
  40. are their opinions of the product.
