  12. I just don't get it.  I installed a modem as per the manual (using SAM)
  13. and the device files seem to be created - so far so good.  But when I 
  14. try to run kermit, it reports that the device is busy.  I forget which
  15. device of the three created I am supposed to use, but I tried them all 
  16. without success (SAM creates /dev/cua00 /dev/cul00 /dev/ttyd00).

  18. Anyone had similar experiences?  How did you solve it?
  19. (We have HP9000 workstations - series 400 I believe - and a hayes compatible
  20. modem).
