- this is the first unix system in many, many years which has given the

- if you su to change uid, you can type the entire passwd before the Password:
- prompt and have it work.

- while not an outright 'bug', it is unusual. su behaviour as i remember it in
- 5.X, 7.X and bsd systems has stdin fflushed before reading they did it for a
- reason, if the password is accepted BEFORE the prompt, people tend to type it
- in before the prompt without waiting and thus it gets echoed on the screen.
