- We are trying to install some xterms to our net, and having several
- problems.
-
- So far, the server tapes loaded fine, and changes were made to the master
- NIS server for services, hosts, passwd, and group.
-
- When we try to configure the terminal via xtadm, we got the following
- message:
-
- dobootpstuff: /usr/tftpdir/usr/lib/X11/700X/config/rx700.cfg: cannot create
-
- Anyway, when we tested the installation of software test, a message saying
- file C2708A couldn't be retrieved from server -- check routing table for
- the host machine popped up. We didn't include any subnet/gateway in the
- config, since the host and the xterm are both on the same subnet, and shouldn't
- require a gateway to talk to each other.
-
- Subsequently, checking bootp via xtadm ALSO failed (bootp servers not
- responding). All the entries are present for inetd.conf and services,
- but it still fails. (bootpd does not show up under ps either)
-
- Is there something we are overlooking in the installation?
-
- The file server is a 720 running 8.07, and the server tape version
- is B.03.00.
-
- Thanks in advance.
