  17. We're developing a SCSI based device that is accessed as a raw disk drive.....  Now, onto the questions....

  20. Howdy (yet again)....
  21.     I have a couple of questions regarding the current scsi implementation on the HP705.
  22.     a) On the data lines, is parity implemented and if so what sense does it have?
  23.     b) Which scsi is used? (scsi-1 or the draft scsi-II standard...or something else?)  Particulars on this are:
  24.             1) after arbitration and selection (HP is initiator) is the
  25.         IDENTIFY message automatically sent as the next phase?
  26.              2) is /ATN routinely set whenever a message out request
  27.         is pending?
  28.              3)  for random access devices, which messages and 
  29.          commands besides the scsi-II mandatories are implemented?
  30.               4) for the random access type target, are there any
  31.           group 5 (12 byte blocks) commands implemented, and if so
  32.           is the scsi-1 or scsi-II "typical" block structure
  33.            used?
  34.               5) for raw disc-type random access devices, is a
  35.            FORMAT command ever used and if so, how are the returned
  36.            data used to calculate later calls to logical block
  37.            addresses (if used at all)?
