- I've gotten a lot of mail on these two observations.
-
- What people need to understand is that although I'm pretty nimble with
- PCs, Macintoshes, and their respective peripherals and cables, I'm still
- a writer first, technician second. And I'm of the opinion that Zeos
- needs to think less highly of my technical skills, even if it costs them
- a few bucks more to throw in the *right* cable combos and spend the
- extra hours rewriting the manual to say, "Here, stoopid, is how you
- print from the Pocket PC," or "Look, just plug this into that, and
- voila, your file will be transferred."
-
- I *know* what RGB stands for (Apple makes a point of telling you this
- on the side of color monitor boxes). I was just trying to give a sense
- of how limited I felt my options were, short of a techie showing up at
- my door to say, "Oh, of course, you need *this* cable too ..."
-
- And let's also bear in mind the software was, ah, skeletal, shall we
- say.
-
- Thanks also to everyone who sent nice notes, as well as those who
- helpfully corrected the situation described above for me. You helped
- confirm that this is a customer service problem that should be corrected
- with hardware, software, and documentation updates.
