- I recently purchased a receiver that allows computer control, and I would
- like to control it from my hp48. The problem is, the receiver expects
- RTS/CTS handshaking. The pinout for the receiver DB-9 is as follows:
-
- 1- Scan feedback - +5 volts is receiver unsquelched
- 2- Rx data
- 3- Rx data
- 4- DTE ready
- 5- Ground
- 6- DCE ready
- 7- RTS
- 8- CTS
- 9- Ground

- I have tried the following: tie pins 4 & 6 together, and tie pins 7 & 8
- together, so it thinks everything is always ready. This does not work.
- The receiver is fixed at 9600 baud, 1 start bit, 7 data bits, 1 stop bit,
- even parity. When I try the above configuration, the receiver thinks it's
- connected to a computer, but when I try to send a few characters, I
- expect to get specific responses, and I get parity errors on the '48.
- I have tried ALL of the parity settings on the '48. Can anyone help?
- Please respond directly. Thank you!
