- In reguard to a previous question about keying on the Pocket PC
- from ZEOS:
-
- The keyboard is quite useable after a bit of adjustment to having
- your fingers close together. Now I am not sure as to wpm quotes
- here but I find it a bit more functional than my HP95 I just picked
- up.
-
- Overall views were somewhat mixed. The thickness is very
- impressive where as the length and width are a bit intimidating.
- The rep said it would fit in a suit pocket, but at 9 5/8" x 4 1/2" that
- is a good sized pocket. But its the price you pay for easier keying.
-
- They give you a wealth of goodies at "no additional cost" including
- an AC adaptor, both a serial and parallel cable, a couple gender
- benders, along with a carrying case for the $595 price. (this is what
- the rep told me anyway...)
-
- The best item that I noticed was their prices on PCMCIA cards:
- 512k - $149
- 1MB - $249
- 2MB - $449
-
- I am not sure what mail order on these are these days but I thought
- they were a fair price. (As opposed to my $124.95 128k HP card!)
-
- The unit itself is made in Taiwan, I think, so I am not sure what
- value-add ZEOS put into it besides a marketing channel to the US.
-
- They had said volume ship date started this past Tuesday and that
- their local factory outlet store here in Mpls should have them in a
- couple weeks.
-
- I still like all the extra play things (IR port and Internet archive) that
- the HP has, so I don't think I'll make the jump to the ZEOS just yet.
-
- Hopefully this is of some use to someone and not just a waste of
- bandwidth.
