- I've connected my little hp95lx (a PC-compatible palmtop) to my DECstation
- and I've uploaded files to the DECstation with kermit (I think it's a gnu
- version of kermit on the DECstation - somebody might be able to help you with
- that). There were a few steps:-
-
- 1) get an appropriate serial cable.
- 2) get a getty process running on one of the serial ports in the back of
- your DECstation (I can't remember off the top of my head how to do this,
- but you need root privileges and if you have root privileges then you should
- know how to do it).
- 3) get a terminal emulator for your PC which supports kermit file transfer
- (easy for me - this is built in to the hp95lx).
- 4) plug your PC into the serial port, log in, and transfer!
