  13. Documenter's WorkBench is the original UNIX text processing
  14. software package.  It has been kept alive and well through
  15. the years inside AT&T and is now available to all. The
  16. latest version, DWB 3.2, includes first rate PostScript
  17. printer support, several utilities to aid PostScript printer
  18. administration, many tbl fixes, man macros for System V
  19. and BSD, troff speed improvements and much more. If you
  20. currently have an old version (typically DWB 2.0) I
  21. urge you to consider the considerably-more reliable, robust
  22. and supported 3.2 package. If you have problems ordering
  23. the software or getting support, send mail to me or to
  24. dwb@att.com.
  25. This version of troff and other tools in DWB 3.2 is used
  26. by Brian Kernighan and many other authors to typeset their
  27. books, and it is used by tens of thousands of internal
  28. AT&T folks for customer documentation, memos, letters,
  29. brochures. The package comes with PostScript and HP
  30. LaserJet support only.

  45. Internal AT&T employees can order the same software
  46. for Sun 3, Sun 4, Amdahl UTS, VAX and HP 7000 through
  47. USTOP (908-582-5880). In all cases, the source code
  48. is identical, but you'll be getting binary distribution,
  49. for these and the NCR products.
  50. Documentation is all updated. man pages are included
  51. in the binary as well. There is even a sample PostScript
  52. logo for private letterheads.

  54. Internally, we have an X Window troff viewer and an
  55. X Window enhancement to pic, Picasso, but I've never
  56. been able to interest AT&T/NCR in selling these.
