- Documenter's WorkBench is the original UNIX text processing
- software package. It has been kept alive and well through
- the years inside AT&T and is now available to all. The
- latest version, DWB 3.2, includes first rate PostScript
- printer support, several utilities to aid PostScript printer
- administration, many tbl fixes, man macros for System V
- and BSD, troff speed improvements and much more. If you
- currently have an old version (typically DWB 2.0) I
- urge you to consider the considerably-more reliable, robust
- and supported 3.2 package. If you have problems ordering
- the software or getting support, send mail to me or to
- dwb@att.com.
- This version of troff and other tools in DWB 3.2 is used
- by Brian Kernighan and many other authors to typeset their
- books, and it is used by tens of thousands of internal
- AT&T folks for customer documentation, memos, letters,
- brochures. The package comes with PostScript and HP
- LaserJet support only.
- Here are the NCR ordering codes:

- Internal AT&T employees can order the same software
- for Sun 3, Sun 4, Amdahl UTS, VAX and HP 7000 through
- USTOP (908-582-5880). In all cases, the source code
- is identical, but you'll be getting binary distribution,
- for these and the NCR products.
- Documentation is all updated. man pages are included
- in the binary as well. There is even a sample PostScript
- logo for private letterheads.
-
- Internally, we have an X Window troff viewer and an
- X Window enhancement to pic, Picasso, but I've never
- been able to interest AT&T/NCR in selling these.
- Let me know if you're interested.
