  13. All I can say about the problem (SC1224 has a dark purple picture when switched
  14. on before the ST) is that I have had exactly the same problem for a year and a
  15. half now.
  16. It seems that the monitor doesn't like it when it gets no sync signals.
  17. This I found out when I tried a 'smart' screen-saver which just stopped the
  18. sync. This type of program is no fun, as I don't know if it can permanently
  19. damage the monitor.

  21. Something which works for me is switching the monitor and computer (and HD) on
  22. at the same time (I use a large power strip with its own switch).
