- I thought the LC and LCII could only support _8_ bit color (256 simultaneous) on
- Apple's 12 inch monitor and 16 colors on the 13" units. To get 256 colors on a
- 13" you need to add more VRAM. Isn't this right or did Apple improve video specs
- on the LCII? It _could_ be a nice machine if but for that 16 bit data path!!!
-
- I think the Falcon should indeed be superior to the LCII (even disregarding the
- Falcon's vastly superior sound capabilities) but then again, there is that huge
- software base for the Mac made possible because Apple _advertises_! And don't
- forget about the more powerful but lower cost 68030 machines Apple has announced
- for availability later this year; some with built-in CD-ROM too.
-
- As a developer, I'm just curious... how many folks in this newsgroup actually do
- intend to buy a Falcon when (and if) they become readily available at say, about
- US$799 for a 1Mb, _no_ hard drive model (which will _not_ multitask in this
- configuration)? How much will a 4Mb, 65Mb HD model cost? Atari has not released
- pricing info yet but if $799 is about right for the low end, we would surely be
- talking about $1299 or so, don't you think? And you'll also need a VGA monitor.
-
- So how many _really_ intend to buy one?
-
- Cheers,
