- Hi,
-
- Sorry that it took so long for the summary to come out.
-
- I'd like to thank the following people for responding.

- (I would like to point out that I haven't gotten any of these products
- yet, except for Sagrotan so all I'm doing is report what they told
- me.)
-
- Two people mentioned The Ultimate Virus Killer, which is a commercial
- product. It kills both link and boot sector viruses and checks hard
- drives. It is also a disk repair package. It is being marketed by
- Oregon Research Associates. I don't remember offhand what net.policy
- is about giving addresses of businesses. I'm going to give their
- address here strictly for completeness sake and with the disclaimer
- that I have absolutely no relation with them. (I'm not even a customer
- of theirs!)

- Oregon Research Associates

- Also:
-
- B&G Electronics
- 15729 Madison Ave.
- Cleveland, Ohio 44107.
-
- sells it. Again, I have no connection with this store. Some of the
- people who responded suggested it.
-
- There is a shareware virus killer called VIRENDETEKTOR. It is only
- available with a German manual and its menus are in German.
-
- It recogizes all known ST link and bootsector viruses. Scans whole
- drives or partitions for link viruss very quickly (It claims 50x
- faster than Sagrotan.) There is the option of immunizing disks and
- estimates the "Virus Probability Factor" for unknown boot disks. It
- recognizes changes to the "rootsektor" (boot sector?) and can restore
- it.
-
- (Claims to run on all ST type computers.)
-
- VIRENDETEKTOR is Shareware, you can get the new version 3.1e by sending 35,- DM
- (30,- DM + 5 DM for shipping) or 23 US-Dollar to:
-
- Volker Soehnitz
- Beginenstr. 17
- 5100 Aachen
- Germany
-
- There is also a program called Sagrotan, but I didn't get too much
- information about it. I found it on atari.archive but since I don't
- know German, I didn't get too far with it.
