  11.      Well, looking through the latest Video Magazine, I was surprised to
  12. see an article  on an image enhancing technique for video dubbed
  13. line-doubling. Now is this the same as the Falcon's new display modes?
  14. If so, this could be one of the best things that Atari could put into
  15. the new machine for video production!

  17.      The article starts out by comparing line-doubling to HDTV, but is
  18. possible now, but for a lot of money. (Most of the set-ups described in
  19. the article cost >$30000. (Yes, thats Thirty thousand dollars.)

  21.      Here is how they describe line-doubling, taken without permission
  22. from VIDEO magazine:

  24.      "... A Line doubler memorizes the first (odd) half of the 525 lines
  25. [of NTSC video signal] while simultaneously displaying the other(even)
  26. half. This adds up to a full frame of video every 1/60th of a second,
  27. instead of every 1/30th. Since you're now seeing both halves of the
  28. video image on screen at the same time, the picture "looks" more
  29. detailed, even thoiugh you're not really seeing more information than is
  30. actually present in the source material. Just as importantly, the scan
  31. lines become almost imperceptible."

  33.      Is this the same mode as line-doubling on the Falcon? If so, the
  34. falcon could produce awesome video productions, for a lot less money.
