- I've got that beat by a mile.
-
- I was on the third (?) level, at the place where you walk up to a door, which
- slams shut before you can get through it, then a message on the wall mocks
- you with 'None shall pass'. Of course, visible behind a blue transporter/force
- field is a treasure chest which I wanted. I hadn't yet figured out that you
- could chop some doors down (but then again, I also didn't know that Altars of
- Vi resurrected your characters) so I set to work trying to find a way through
- the force field. Eventually, I decided from the descriptions of the magical
- syllables in the manual that a spell of FUL IR (FUL, which controls the essence
- of fire, and hey, the field LOOKED kinda firey, and IR, which was the power of
- flight) would take the energy from the field, and make it fly away, right?
- Wrong. It was, of course, a fireball, which flew into the field, was transported
- behind my party, then slammed into them from behind. Now, this being only the
- third level, my adventurers were weak enough that even that tiny LO fireball
- killed them all. So, a slight setback, but after I restore my game, I had a ball
- (excuse the pun) torching everything in sight...
