  22. I think most people were a bit disappointed with what they saw - that was
  23. the impression I got. The 640x480x256 mode is non-interlaced on a VGA monitor
  24. so it should be stable. Most monitors/TVs on the show however used the 
  25. interlaced modes - I guess Atari wanted to show off the true-colour 
  26. capabilities of the Falcon - that's were the flicker came from; not very
  27. impressive.
  28. There were some game demos on display: one Defender-like game which looked
  29. quite good and another arcade-adventure-like game, which looked okay but
  30. it took ages to load from hard disk - we are talking minutes(!)... not a
  31. very good choice if you want to show off the speed of a Falcon.

  33. I have to agree that the sound system was the most impressive thing about the
  34. Falcon. The graphic modes are more or less standard, nothing you haven't seen
  35. before but the in the sound department the Falcon shows its real strength.
  36. It gives you more possibilities and better sounds than any other computer
  37. system (in that price range anyway) - it's worth buying it for that alone.
