- The Falcon030, as a machine, has some very unique features to offer. As far as
- the company is concerned, it is run by very unprofessional staff members, to
- say the least. Not only that, they are *very* affraid if someone voices an
- opinion that does not correspond to theirs.
-
- As I have stated many times before, the computer market in North America and
- around the world has changed dramatically over the course of the last few
- years. This is not 1985 but 1992. The PC market along with the Mac market
- are the dominating force and will remain so unless something truly
- spectacular will happen. The amount of Atari dealers that are still
- supporting the Atari line of computers in North America is declining. Only a
- very few are still selling Atari computers. There is vitually no support,
- and if there is you will have to search for mail-order house. Not many
- people like to use mail-order houses, I can tell you that much.
-
- For whatever reason people are switching to other platforms, they are doing it
- because they are not satisfied with the current one they own. After
- contributing to the Atari community as much as I possibly could, I have
- decided to move on but I still own lots of Atari equipment. Currently I
- am running a 486/50 MHz, 16 MB Ram, ATI Graphics Ultra (Super Fast Graphics),
- 17 inch MAG Monitor etc. Sure the system costs quite a few $$ but it was well
- worth it. Runnnig IBM's OS/2 2.0 allows me to multitask and multithread and
- run Windows and DOS as well OS/2 programs at the same time. I must agree,
- when Atari Corporation initially released their ST line, PC computers could
- not compete but today it is a totally different story. You can have the
- fastest machine in the world but if there is almost no support it's not worth
- one dime.
-
- Forbes, a leading financial publication in the United States, summarized
- Atari Corporations dealings very nicely - CHEAP DIDN'T SELL.
