- Well, one idea that pops into my mind, speaking for myself, is that
- with a direct Internet connection (telnet, for example) you now have
- some little hacker sitting at a university somewhere who can repeatedly
- attempt to get onto your account and run up your bill... not a good
- situation. With a dial-up connection that costs $.25 each call (such
- as with hermes.merit.edu) Mr. Hacker will soon go broke since he has
- to pre-pay it.
