- I'm sure I will be quickly corrected but I believe this to be correct:

- The DeskWriter (being designed specifically for the Mac) does not have
- built-in (resident) fonts while the DeskJet does. For this reason, the
- DeskWriter can not be used with ProDOS 8 applications -- in other words,
- if you have an application that sends the ASCII code for characters to
- a printer, the DeskWriter won't understand them! -- the DeskJet will.
- For this reason, it is a better idea to buy the DeskJet if you will be
- printing from any 8 bit applications.
