- Like Todd, I'm at a loss as to understanding what you want to do. For backing
- up you would/should use the RamFAST utility as that is what it is designed
- for. I would suspect that Drew intentionally makes the tape write protected
- outside of the utility program so as to avoid complaints from users who would
- find a tape drive incredibly slow for random access writing to.

- Now you did mention something about wanting file by file access, well, in case
- you didn't know it, when the RamFAST makes a backup, yes it makes an image of
- the drive/partitions being backed up, but that doesn't prevent you from access
- the backup media...even if it is write protected. You can always read from it.
