- I have a Preference Western Digital 40 Meg HD hooked up to my
- IIgs and i'm having problems, the second partition has been really messed
- up recently and i copied all the files off of it.. I tried to format it
- with many programs but all said "Write Protected" (A Hard Drive?) So
- i finnaly got Prosel to work and format it, i used Wings with System
- 6.0 to "verify" it and it verifys the blocks from 0 to 40960...
- When it gets into the 39000's it slows down drastically and takes up
- to about 1hr or more to finish, then theres a VERY large amount of
- "bad blocks".. I tried to reformat it with Wings and it still believes
- the drive is write protected.. I've run it through every test and repair
- i can find on Prosel and they all refuse to do anymore work because they
- can't find any errors.. I don't want to reinstall more stuff and then
- when i go to back it up be told "The disk HD2 might be damaged, please
- move everythin to another location"...
- I'm running it through a CMS scsi card which partitions it through
- jumpers.. (ITs still technically a 40meg partition, the scsi card
- does the partitioning for Prodos...)
- I'm not to sure i ever did a low level format (Have no programs to
- do that with)
- And i've NEVER parked it except for the occasion when my friend brought
- his Revision D Scsi card over and we tried to park it.. Someone told me
- i need a driver for it.. All help would be Greatly appreciated as i'm
- chock full on the other 20meg patition and trying to write a BBS...
-
- Also, my GS tends to overheat very often if i leave the cover on it
- .. If anyone is selling a fan i'm looking to buy one...
