- I have some related questions, myself. I just acquired a 9600 v32/v42.bis
- external modem. (CPI's Viva 9600). I've gotten it to work adequately with
- my pc, but its main job in life is on my //GS, and my BBS. I'm still back
- in the dark ages, softwarewise: I run Macos, and like it.
-
- By carefully shutting off all special features of the modem, I've gotten
- it to accept connections at 2400. Today I managed to get a plain 9600
- connection from work, but that may have been a fluke. I've been using the
- ACOS cable, but also acquired/tried a regular cable, which it didn't like
- at all. No sweat.
-
- I need general info and advice on getting it to answer in error-correction
- mode, at 14,400 bps. If it takes an SSC instead of the modem port, well, I
- have an SSC but hate to do that, what with the keypresses needed for it to
- autobaud. If that's the only way, though...(shrug) Has anyone been
- through this before? Any advice/info/driver-updates-I-don't-know-about?
