- I see several prices being bounced around regarding used DN10K's,
- but no real consensus on ballpark figures.
-
- Let me explain my situation, and perhaps you could offer some
- advice...
-
- We got trade-in money on our DN10K towards a 9000/750.
- Happy happy, joy joy. NOW... in their infinite wisdom
- (snicker) they (Unisys), did not ship it back in the
- requested manner and it was fairly heavily damaged.
-
- THIS leaves us in an interesting position. We can,
- a. Tell them to go ahead and fix the DN10K at $85 per hour
- plus parts and bite the bullet, calling the cost
- payment of the Dumb Tax for our improper shipping.
-
- b. Tell them to fix it up to a given value, at which we
- call it more than the value of the machine, and we
- refuse to pay more. This could get ugly.
- It would rely on us knowing the real world value of the
- DN10K and being able to argue it.
-
- c. We can offer to buy the machine in it's damaged condition
- for an undamaged price and either use the machine as a
- source of spare parts for other DN10Ks in our Rancho Bernardo
- facility or simply repair the unit and return it to service
- here (providing the repair isn't too outrageously expensive.)
-
-
- So anyways, I really do need *some* approximation of the equipment
- value. No monitor, single processor, single Maxtor 760 drive
- and 64 Meg of memory. If this baby was in good condition, what
- do you think it would be worth on the open market, and why?
-
-
- Thanks for any input you might have.
