  13. I see several prices being bounced around regarding used DN10K's,
  14. but no real consensus on ballpark figures.

  16. Let me explain my situation, and perhaps you could offer some
  17. advice...

  19. We got trade-in money on our DN10K towards a 9000/750.
  20. Happy happy, joy joy. NOW... in their infinite wisdom
  21. (snicker) they (Unisys), did not ship it back in the
  22. requested manner and it was fairly heavily damaged.

  24. THIS leaves us in an interesting position. We can,
  25. a. Tell them to go ahead and fix the DN10K at $85 per hour
  26.    plus parts and bite the bullet, calling the cost
  27.    payment of the Dumb Tax for our improper shipping.
  28.  
  29. b.  Tell them to fix it up to a given value, at which we 
  30.    call it more than the value of the machine, and we
  31.    refuse to pay more. This could get ugly.
  32.    It would rely on us knowing the real world value of the
  33.    DN10K and being able to argue it.
  34.  
  35. c. We can offer to buy the machine in it's damaged condition
  36.    for an undamaged price and either use the machine as a
  37.    source of spare parts for other DN10Ks in our Rancho Bernardo
  38.    facility or simply repair the unit and return it to service
  39.    here (providing the repair isn't too outrageously expensive.)

  42. So anyways, I really do need *some* approximation of the equipment
  43. value. No monitor, single processor, single Maxtor 760 drive 
  44. and 64 Meg of memory. If this baby was in good condition, what 
  45. do you think it would be worth on the open market, and why?
