  13. Not that I want to put anyone down or anything.  But Commodore has officially
  14. pronounced Kickstart/Workbench 1.3 DEAD a long time ago.  I think that as
  15. soon as a new version of Kickstart/Workbench is released, that developers
  16. should have new products out that take advantage of the new OS.  I don't
  17. want bigger and possibly slower and less powerful programs because
  18. developers don't think enough people are running 2.0.  
  19.     Maybe they feel there is no reason to upgrade (I don't know how) but
  20. if a program comes out that they want and it is 2.x (or maybe 3.x) and up
  21. maybe they will upgrade.  When Windows 3.1 (although not an OS) came out
  22. there were many program updates to take advantage of its new features.
  23.     By the time most of the developers make programs for 2.04, 2.1 will
  24. be out (probably on Sept 12), and 3.x will be very close, it is now
  25. at least version 39.97.
  26.     So all in all, I would just like to ask developers to develop for
  27. the current most powerful version of the OS. This includes using the asl
  28. requesters (font,screenmode, pallette?), dos pattern matching, public screens.
  29. commodites, etc.  I am sick of having to save my arp.library for a few old 
  30.  programs, and some of them aren't that old.  Wouldn't a Style Guide 
  31. compliant DPaint and Profession Page/Draw be nice?  Also how about
  32. support for Softlogik's HotLinks?  ProWrite 3.3 will have it.
