- Does anyone know if there is a software package for the Amiga which is similar
- to a program called "The Stacker" for the IBM-PC and compatibles?
-
- Basically what Stacker does is use a huge file on the PCs HD to emulate a disk.
- However, the data in this file is compressed so that the Stacker program
- effectively doubles your HD space! For instance I have a PC at home with a
- 20MB hard drive. Using stacker I can sqeeze about 40M worth of data onto
- the drive.
-
- If there is not such a program I am interested in writing one. In that case
- could someone send me some good compression routines to use, or perhaps
- suggest a good compression algorithm? I can write such a routine, but I am
- really not in the mood to do so.
-
- Thanks!!
