- Of course, we'll all find out soon enough, but here's an interesting idea:
-
- Dave Haynie has said that the 040 card for the 3000T will not fit into
- an A3000 because of form factor considerations primarily caused by a
- heat sink. We know that other manufacturers have made 040 cards for
- regular A3000s that do not violate form factor, so perhaps there is more
- that has to be fit onto this card? Would Commodore really throw away
- the A3000 upgrade market--lots of A3000 owners have expressed the desire
- to upgrade to a Commodore 040 when it becomes available. Perhaps an AA
- chipset has been designed into this card as well, taking up more space?
- This would probably mean the card has other things such as a new 23-pin
- video connector on the backplane (do processor cards come out to the
- back on the 3000T?), and perhaps some sort of video bus connector on
- the card itself.
-
- Does this make sense to anyone? Is it possible? Dave, have I once
- again read far too much into a tangential technical comment of yours?
