  14. Well, I'm absolutely clueless about the whole amiga scene, so if
  15. there's a FAQ, I'll be happy to peruse it!  Anyhow, here are my
  16. questions:

  19. 1) What is an amiga 1000?

  21. 2) What is an amiga 2000?
  22.  
  23. 3) What is an amiga 3000?
  24.  
  25. 4) What CPUs do the above use?  How fast?  What sort of bus(es)? How
  26. much do they cost?

  28. 5) Which machine(s) can you run amiga's flavor of UNIX on?  Do you
  29. have to buy extra memory, etc. to do so?  How much does amiga UNIX
  30. cost?
  31.  
  32. 6) Are there C and/or C++ compilers available for amigas?
  33.  
  34. 7) What is amigados?  (Plz, beyond the obvious, "It's an operating
  35. system.")
  36.  
  37. 8) Are there compelling reasons for wanting to own an amiga system?
  38. Will I get more bang for the buck than, say, buying a (now very cheap)
  39. 3- or 486 box with a whizzy monitor?
