- Im not really a newcomer, but the question is one that has been aired and solved
- many times.. unfortunately I wasnt around the net at the time, so here goes:
-
- 1)
- I have an a500 with 2M ram and an external drive(xytec) . When I boot with the
- external drive attached the amiga has the impression that it has 4 drives
- attached.
-
- Someone mentioned something about jumper connections, so I had a look inside the
- drive (citizen mechanism) and found an 3x2 array of pins with two jumpers on
- some of them. moving the "jumpers" didnt amuse the amiga which told me that
- I had no external drives. I put the jumpers back to their original positions
- and still have the problem of the two extra phantom drives: df2: df3:
-
- any ideas as what I should do (other than get a better disk-drive) to solve the
- problem? Or is the problem within the amiga and how do I find out.
-
- 2) the flicker-fixer program is very efeective at removing flicker without
- investing in hardware. Unfortunately it only works on the "workbench" screen.
- Has it been extended to work on all screens? If so where can I get it from.
-
- Many thanks. please email replies as I dont normally see this newsgroup
