- I'm attempting to hook up a Syquest 44 mb drive to my Amiga 3000 via the
- external SCSI port. The drive powers up fine, low level formats fine, and
- high level formats (AmigaDOS formats) fine. But when I go to copy something
- to the drive, the system locks up while copying. Where and when it locks up
- appears to be random, but it is usually within 20 seconds of copying data to
- the drive.
-
- Where is my problem? I'm guessing that hardware problems could either be a
- bad cable or improper termination. I've tried the drive with and without
- terminators -- I get the same result. But software wise, I'm wondering if the
- max transfer rate has anything to do with it, or maybe the interleaving.
-
- I've noticed that the mountlist has an entry for interleaving, but the
- AmigaDos 2.0 HDToolBox does not. Is this normal? Oh, and also, do Syquest 44
- md drives support reselection? (And what exactly does that mean?)
-
- Any and all help is *greatly* appreciated. I'd like to get this drive up and
- running! Thanks!
