- I'm trying to get an IBM type 661 3.5 inch hard disk working on an A590
- with rev 6.6 roms. It seems to powerup o.k. When I read the drive to
- find out about it, thence to write the RDB, it reports manufacturer as IBM
- and model as 0661371, revision B. I then get a message saying no size
- information available. When I try a low-level format or writing the RDB there
- is a lot of controller activity, which doesn't stop unless the drive is
- powered off or the machine rebooted, the drive make some head noise then
- ceases (when I say noise, I mean stethescope city... this is one _quiet_
- drive!). Does anyone know of any tricks etc. I may be missing? I have NO other
- information on the drive which I'm looking at as a favour for a shop, which
- is looking at it for a customer, who got it out of some piece of something...
- E-mail or post, either way I'm grateful for _any_ info...
-
- Thanks, Liam
