- This is a follup to the original posting with the problem with the external
- drives.
-
- In short :
-
- My new Amiga 500+ seems to have a problem with my external drives, it
- gives spurious write protects on *not* writeprotected disks when copying
- from the internal to one of the external drives. It also occurs when formatting.
- The problem doesn't occur when copying from external to internal.
-
- I just discovered that if I remove the write protect on the internal drive
- the problem vanishes. There are no more spurious write protects on the external
- drives. The problem also occurs when a disk in the internal drive is
- writeprotected. A copy from one of the external drives to the other gives
- also the spurious write protect message, even when both disks are *not* write
- protected.
-
- I brougth my computer back to my dealer and took my drives with me.
- The A500+ they had there exhibited exactly the same problem.
-
- Anybody got any ideas how to solve this ?
